Back on April 22, Changan Automobile officially held an event in the mountain city of Chongqing and released its latest model. The new model is dubbed Changan LUMIN. The new car is the first product based on the new pure electric platform of Changan EPA0. It is positioned in the pure electric mini-vehicle market and offers three battery life versions. These are 155km, 210km, and 301km. It has a self-developed electronic control system.

The official said that the whole vehicle enjoys a 3-year or 120,000-km warranty. While the battery, electric drive, and electronic control system enjoy an 8-year or 120,000-km super-long warranty. The appearance of Changan LUMIN is said to be in line with the current trend. Based on the car-making standard of national travel boutique cars, the new vehicle has a spacious and comfortable, outstanding hardcore, and super pure electric vehicle.

Changan LUMIN’s design style is small and cute in terms of appearance. The quality standard of the LUMIN has both a sense of fashion and a more comfortable driving space. The hidden door handle is another appearance highlight of Changan LUMIN. It is the first model with this configuration in the same class of products. The minimalist aesthetic design gives the body a sense of smoothness. The welcoming flowing water headlights light up the sense of ritual for every car owner, approaching the driver, leaving to see the guests, and always maintaining a charming posture.

The brand new “LUMIN” logo is used in the center of the front face, with round headlights and flowing water lighting effects on both sides. The brand adds “mask” to the top of the headlights so that the overall visual effect is the same as that of the eyes, which is unique. The overall shape is round and cute, which should be favored by many female consumers. The new model provides 7 body colors of fog white, moss green, lake blue, magpie gray, dew green, wheat yellow, and cherry pink in terms of model color matching.

On the side of the body, LUMIN still has a round and sturdy style. It adopts a 14-inch wheel with decorative covers to add a sense of fashion. The charging interface is located on the left side of the body. The shape of the taillights at the rear of the car echoes the headlights, like two big round eyes. In terms of body size, the new car’s length, width, and height are 3270 x 1700 x 1545mm, respectively, and the wheelbase is 1980mm. In terms of interior, the new car adopts a unique design style. The same will be available in charming gray and blue colors, and the overall shape is relatively simple.

The styling of the overall interior continues the exterior design, and the visual effect of the center console with a variety of colors and materials is also relatively young. Major elements such as a three-spoke multi-function steering wheel, a floating full LCD instrument, and a 10.25-inch central control screen make the new car look very stylish.

The central control screen supports reversing images, mobile phone interconnection, voice control, and other human-vehicle interconnection systems, creating a good sense of technology. In addition, the new car also adds colorful trim strips to the center console for decoration. It adds a youthful and fashionable atmosphere.

In terms of configuration, all LUMIN series will be featuring the NBooster intelligent braking system as standard. It will effectively be improving the braking energy recovery rate. It can also extend the cruising range and integrate the hill assist function (HHC) to reduce the risk of slipping when going uphill.

In addition, the new car also provides electric adjustment of rear-view mirrors. Standard features include driver and passenger airbags, anti-dazzling interior rear-view mirrors, parking sensors, and collision sensors. It is worth mentioning that the rear seats of the new car support a 5/5 ratio fold down. It can provide a good trunk space.

In terms of power, the drive motor of Changan LUMIN has two supplier versions, with a maximum power of 30kW. The battery it equips is a lithium iron phosphate battery from China Innovation Aviation. It is available in three different capacities of 12.92kWh, 17.65kWh, and 27.99kWh. The corresponding CLTC-P standard cruising ranges to three battery life versions are 155km, 210km, and 301km.

The new Changan LUMIN first made its appearance on the official website of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in March this year, and then the relevant information was officially announced. The new model is Changan Automobile’s flagship product in the mini-car market. It is one of the solid guarantees for reaching the sales target of 4 million units in 2025. The new car will be officially available to purchase in the second half of this year.
